Kevin Bender and Paul published <a class=\"docsum-title\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/39480263\/\" data-ga-category=\"result_click\" data-ga-action=\"2\" data-ga-label=\"39480263\" data-full-article-url=\"from_term=jenkins+pm&amp;from_sort=date&amp;from_pos=2\" data-article-id=\"39480263\">Axon initial segment structure and function in health and disease<\/a>\u00a0in <em>Physiological Reviews<\/em>. This comprehensive 352 citation beast covers many aspects of AIS physiology and pathophysiology from both the physiologist&#8217;s and cell biologist&#8217;s perspective.\u00a0 Kalynn published <a id=\"aria235998\" href=\"https:\/\/portlandpress.com\/biochemsoctrans\/article\/53\/02\/497\/235998\/Regulation-of-neuronal-ankyrin-localization-and?searchresult=1\">Regulation of neuronal ankyrin localization and function by post-translational modifications<\/a> in <em>Biochemical Society Transactions<\/em>. This mini-review covers several posttranslational modifications to ankyrins, including palmitoylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination, and their effects on ankyrin function. Finally, Carina published her review Cytoskeletal scaffolding of Na<sub>V<\/sub>s and K<sub>V<\/sub>s in Neocortical Pyramidal Neurons: Implications for Neuronal Signaling and Plasticity in <em>Current Opinion in Cell Biology<\/em>. This review highlights new findings that uncover regulatory mechanisms of voltage-gated ion channel localization to the AIS and beyond.
