Summer of 2025 is a big transition period for the Jenkins lab. We say goodbye to several long-time Jenkins lab members. MEDPREP student Cooper Stinson is headed to Duke University for Medical School. Gabby Pough graduates and will be applying to medical school this cycle. Elizabeth Cervantes graduates and will be applying to graduate school. Sarah Verduci graduates and will be applying to medical school after spending one last summer with the lab finishing up some stem cell neuron work. And Michigan State undergraduate Kristina Aksovski wraps up her time in lab supported by the Shenoy Undergraduate Fellowship from the Simon’s Foundation. We will miss all of the past lab members but are excited to watch them succeed at the next level! But not all news is bittersweet! The Jenkins lab also welcomes several new members: Dr. Angel Lopez has joined the lab as a research investigator from the University of Texas. She will be continuing to work on her interest in bipolar disorder in affiliation with the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program. Gracie Kmiec has joined the lab as a Pharmacology PhD student. Gracie was an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Zoe McElligott’s lab at UNC and has strong feelings about Cooper’s decision to return to Duke. We also welcome summer M.S. intern Margot Bouchet from University of Clermont Auvergne in France, new lab undergraduate, Isla Gleeson, and 2025 SROP summer fellow Nadya Berber from University of California-Davis. Welcome, new lab members!!
